Hiroshima Orizuru Tower Guide
Reflect and Rebuild: Experience Hiroshima from Orizuru Tower Guide
The Hiroshima Orizuru Tower offers a poignant and uplifting experience, combining stunning city views with a powerful message of peace and hope. This modern landmark provides a unique perspective on Hiroshima's past, present, and future. Visitors can ascend to the observation deck for panoramic vistas of the city, including the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park. The Orizuru Tower was built as a symbol of remembrance and a testament to Hiroshima's resilience. The tower's name, "Orizuru," refers to the paper crane, a symbol of peace and healing. Visitors are encouraged to fold their own paper cranes and contribute them to the "Orizuru Wall," a collective art installation that embodies the spirit of hope and reconciliation. Beyond the observation deck, the Orizuru Tower offers interactive exhibits that explore the history of Hiroshima and the importance of peace. Visitors can participate in workshops on origami and learn about the significance of the paper crane. The tower also features a cafe and souvenir shop. While not a specific culinary tradition, the cafe offers light meals and drinks with a focus on local ingredients.
